LAUNDRY ASSISTANTS/ LAUNDRY WORKERSHours of work: Tuesday to Saturday 7am-3pmGI Group Scarborough are currently recruiting for Laundry Assistants on behalf of a reputable company on the outskirts of Pickering.The role of the Laundry Assistant is to work as part of a team operate a commercial laundry equipment including pressing equipment. Sorting washing into relevant groups, where applicable, and processing it through the washer, drier and iron. Keeping clean and dirty linen separate within the laundry area.The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well organised and able to work both independently. Applicants must be motivated, have good communication skills and be a team player. Duties for this role will include: * Checking items before washing for damage or stains* Using water and chemicals to remove stains before processing* Sorting items according to colour, size and type of fabric* Tagging items with bar codes or computer chips for easy identification* Loading items into machines* Adding cleaning agents and setting controls* Finishing items by drying, pressing and folding* Be aware of health and safety policiesYou will need:* The ability to use your initiative* To be thorough and pay attention to detail* The ability to work well with others* The ability to work well with your hands* Physical skills like movement, coordination, dexterity and grace* To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingIf you think this role sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
