Ashfield District Council have a great opportunity for aEarly Intervention Officer - Homelessness to join the team based inAshfield. You will join us on a parttime (22 hours per week), permanent basisand in return, you will receive a competitive salary of£16,711.20 per annum (pay award pending).Ashfield is a great place to work valuing our employees, offering benefits including a very generous holiday entitlement, up to 35 days per year, local government pension and flexible working.Do you want to make a real difference to the lives of residents in urgent housing need If so, the Early Intervention Officer role may be for you.You will be responsible for providing an efficient, high-quality advice and assessment service for people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring customers’ circumstances are investigated and their housing and support needs are assessed in accordance with the homelessness legislation, statutory guidance and the Council’s policies and procedures.To meet the requirements of this role, you must be able to interpret complex legislation and guidance, contribute positively to the development of new working practices and initiatives that help to prevent homelessness, increase the take-up of housing optionsand minimise the use and cost of temporary accommodation.The post is for 3 full days, the days worked are to be agreed with the successful candidate.Closing date:3rd September 2023Interview date: 12th September 2023Canvassing of Members of the Council (directly or indirectly) for any appointment shall disqualify the candidate for that appointment.
