Job Description

Reed Accountancy & Finance are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for various essential tasks, including but not limited to:Accounts Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise daily sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
  • Process accounts payable data, verifying accuracy, and entering information into the accounting system.
  • Perform regular supplier statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Proactively resolve accounts payable queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders, providing efficient and courteous support.
  • Conduct BACS runs for payment processing, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Raise manual payments as required, adhering to proper authorisation protocols.
  • Manage the daily sales processing, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth flow of financial information and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, both electronic and physical, for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and suggest process improvements when necessary.
Accounts Assistant Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
