Job Description

MechanicJob Location: Kentford, NewmarketJob Type: PermanentSalary: Competitive salary dependant on experienceHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to FridaySite needs to be manned between 6am to 10pm so can be flexible in start and end times.Overtime available at time and a halfWe are currently working alongside a Manufacturing company who have been established for over 60 years who are looking to recruit for a Mechanical Service EngineerWithin this role you will be performing inspections, servicing and repairs to a fleet of HGV’s, Fork Lift and Combi Lift Trucks.Your duties will include:

  • Perform preventative maintenance routines and condition monitoring on Combi lifts and Forklifts.
  • Liaise closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and operations staff in all aspects to ensure efficient, effective and planned reactive maintenance at all times.
  • Repair damages to HGV’s upon return for use the following day.
  • Diagnose faults and repair Combi lifts and Forklifts.
  • Anticipate machine failures and make such changes or recommendations to prevent re-occurrence and to minimise downtime.
  • Work to improve reliability and productivity of equipment.
  • Complete written records of all maintenance activities.
  • Carry out maintenance tasks diligently and in good time using appropriate methodology.
  • Cover and manage breakdowns on Combi and Machinery.
  • Make sure that work sheet is given on handover of shift.
    • Ideally you will possess:
  • Good mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills
  • Experience of heavy forklifts, side loaders and multidirectional forklifts desirable.
  • You must have experience working in a fast-moving operational environment, working under pressure and using your own initiative whilst also being an integral part of an effective team.
    • Experience and qualifications within the below areas will be considered:
  • Fork Lift Engineer
  • HGV Mechanic
  • Car Mechanic
  • Plant Technician
