Occupational Therapist - 0-25 Disability Team Employer: Medway CouncilSalary: SW2 - £30,733 - £38,971Location: Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent ME4 4TR Contract: PermanentWorking Pattern: Full Time Hours: 37 hours per week.DBS Check:EnhancedClosing Date: 20/03/2022 at 23:55Reference: CSC611RJ An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking 0-25 Disability Team.We are looking for a highly motivated and experiencedOT who is able to enhance the teams services to children and young people with complex social care needs. This can be due to physical and/or learning disabilities and other conditions such as autism and behaviours that challenge. We aim to enable every individualto reach their full potential by supporting them, working in a person centred way, to engage in meaningful occupation, maximising independence, building confidence and achieving best outcomes.To realise this, we expect the candidate to apply strengths basedand occupationally focused interventions such as re-ablement, contribute to the assessment of sensory processing disorders, arrange major and minor adaptations, advise and provide equipment and apply specialist moving handling skills. It is also essentialto work collaboratively with our Social Work colleagues and partnership agencies promoting each individuals aspirations and enhancing service users life skills to allow maximum engagement with the wider community and successful transition into adulthood.Weare looking for an OT who will contribute to our service development as well as benefit from the support of the small but extremely skilled and knowledgeable OT team.
