Music/ Art Teacher NannyWorking for an family with 5 children in Kensington, central London. The family have a busy lifestyle living and working in London during the week, occasionally spending time at their family home in Surrey during weekends and travelling internationally in school holidays. The children range from 1 - 8 years in age and the family have a Labrador puppy. The household can be described as energetic, fun, relaxed and informal.The Role Position: Live out Weekend Nanny Contract type: Saturday 8am - 8pm / Sunday 8am - 8pm Location: Chelsea, London The Weekend Nanny will be working alongside another nanny and the parents, to help care for the children on weekends. The role will be a mixture of shared care and sole charge, caring for the children at home and providing a fun, stimulating and nurturing environment for them. There will be the requirement to travel with the family to their country house in Surrey on some weekends and it is possible for the nanny to live in here.More about you We are seeking a dedicated Nanny who is passionate about providing a kind, loving and fun approach to their role, whilst ensuring that learning is incorporated into the children’s daily routines. You must be flexible, positive, and have lots of energy. A team player, with a get-stuck-in attitude, is essential. Also seeking someone that is artistic (qualification or training in Art such as fine Art), Creative and Musical (can play a instrument) and back ground/ interest in Montessori teaching philsophy/ ideology would be desirable. Or music teacher back ground.Key responsibilities Activities • Support the children through child led play and oversee their creative and learning activities at all times • Reading with the children age appropriate literature • Support and nurture the children, interacting with them at all times • Play games with children, board games, inside and outside game, carry out art and craft projects and activities with them such as making scrap books, Proactively plan playdates with friends from nursery • Plan and lead educational activities with the children, researching new age appropriate activities to carry out with them, as and when appropriate Children’s routine • Support the children’s morning routine, dressing, washing and breakfast • Ensure bottles and mealtimes are prepared and arrive on time with correct food • Change nappies throughout the day and support with potty training • Ensure evening bedtime and bath routines are kept to, as directed by the children’s parents • Tidy away after activities and play areas • Tidy and fold clothes away • Attend any other needs of the children Meals • Sit with the children during mealtimes and role model good behaviour and encourage them to try new foods • Support with feeding • Prepare any meals for the children and support the other Nanny when required to do so • Follow any direction from the parents on appropriate food for the children • Be aware of the allergies and intolerances off all the children in the house Driving • If driving licence is held, drive the children as required adhering to health and safety requirements at all timesAdditional tasks • Occasional administration relating to the children e.g. booking classes, buying clothes, ordering onlineRelevant experience & skills • Demonstrated experience within a childcare setting or Nannying role; experience with babies is essential • Strong knowledge of children’s activities and a flare for creativity and fun • Demonstrated knowledge of the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of children • Exceptional communication and organisational skills • Trustworthy and discreet • The ability to quickly form close and trusting relationships with the parents, other household staff and the children • A kind, cheerful, warm and easy-going personality • Capable of working independently or part of the wider team • A well-presented and positive role model for children • Ability to create activities that are fun and creative and support the children’s development • Patience, understanding and a sense of humour • A responsible attitude to work and punctual at all times • Ability to cope with unexpected situations Commitment to health and safety and food hygiene • The ability to stay calm under pressureEducation & certifications • DBS checked • Paediatric First Aid • Fluent in English • Driving licence - a plus • Early Years or Montessori experience or qualification - a plus • Creative, musical, artistic passion - a plus such as BA in Fine Art• Health & safety certification - a plus • Food hygiene and awareness training - a plus.Formal qualification in early years education such as BA degree in early years education or CACHE level 3 in childcare and education, a plus.
