Job Description

Our client is currently looking for an Admissions Officer to join the team in Keele!The Admissions Officer plays a lead role in the applicant journey with regards to admissions, CAS, and visa application processes for Keel University International College (KUIC) and our client, working closely with admissions, marketing and compliance teams.Salary: £23k to £25k per annumHours of Work: 37.5 hours per weekAdmissions Officer DutiesThis role would suit an individual with extraordinary attention to detail and the ability to remain composed and organised in a fast-paced environment. The Admissions Officer will establish strong links within the College, Keele University and our clientto ensure:

  • Alignment to the University admission and compliance regulations and policies
  • Timely collection of documentation in support of admissions applications, as well as visa and CAS applications
  • Accurate and speedy assessment of applications received from prospective students and issuing offers to study issued in line with service level agreements and admissions policies and requirements
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders in a cross-functional environment
  • Receive new applications to study at our client colleges and assess for completeness
  • Issue offers to prospective students, and/or refer and manage borderline cases to the College
  • Manage mailboxes and respond to applicant enquiries
  • Interview students as required
  • Handle on the ground complex student and agent queries
  • Develop excellent our client and University engagement with their admission and compliance teams
  • Contribute, as necessary, to problem solving issues raised by agents
  • Participate in wash up activities
  • Make active suggestions to improve processes
Admissions Officer Requirements:
  • At least 2 years experience in an education/visa/immigration
  • Good understanding of Higher Education admission processes
  • Administrative and compliance knowledge and experience related to Tier 4
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of front-line customer relationship management
  • Proven ability as a team player
  • Strong customer service skills and ethos
  • Proven ability to organise own workload and to cope with a variety of task demands
  • Flexible attitude to work including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of student and administrative activities
  • Creative thinking processes
  • Commitment to self-improvement
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a variety of cultural and ethnic stakeholder groups
  • Computer literacy skills inclusive of demonstrated competence with the Microsoft Office suitePowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • File management and administrative skills
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of equal opportunity, equity and workplace health and safety principles
  • Proactive work habits
  • Strong attention to detailparticularly with regards to understanding policy and procedure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly data filtering and pivot table functions
Desirable:
  • Degree level study
  • Experience of working in an International admissions education setting
  • Front-line customer relationship management to multicultural clientele sponsorship duties and requirements an effective knowledge of university programmes
  • Familiarity and understanding of the UK visa process
  • OISC Level 1 competencies in visa advice and knowledge
  • CRM systems
  • Resilient in pursuit of excellence
