Job Description

We are now looking for an Admissions Officer to join our busy team in Keele!If successful, you will be joining the Keele University International College team, where we prepare international students from all around the world for undergraduate and postgraduate level study at Keele University. You will be joining a group of reallydedicated staff who work hard to ensure that students have the very best chance of success, whether through academic or welfare and progression support. We maintain a very friendly culture and environment for staff and students alike, and while it is sometimesa fast-paced and busy environment, it is hugely rewarding for the team when we see our students succeed and progress to Keele University, and indeed graduate a couple of years later.The Admissions Officer plays a lead role in the applicant journey with regards to admissions, CAS and visa application processes for a number of Navitas Colleges and University partners in the European division, working closely with admissions and complianceteams. The colleges and partners to which the role will be assigned will be flex based on where demand is seen and most support is needed. This role would suit an individual with extraordinary attention to detail and the ability to remain composed and organisedin a fast-paced environment.Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:00Salary: £23,000-£26,600 (salary will start at lowest point but depending on experience could go higher) + 36 days inclusive of eight (8) Bank Holidays (Pro Rata)Admissions Officer Duties:

  • Receive new applications to study at Navitas colleges and assess for completeness
  • Issue offers to prospective students, and/or refer and manage borderline cases to the College
  • Interview students as required
  • handle on the ground complex student and agent enquiries
  • Develop excellent Partner University engagement with their admission and compliance teams
  • Contribute, as necessary, to problem solving issues raised by agents
  • contribute, as necessary, to problem solving issues raised by agents
  • support visa documentation and verification (with Partner University)
  • Contribute, as necessary, to the alignment system interaction (e.g. avoid double entry)
  • As appropriate, provide visa information/sign-posting for students
  • Lead CAS and visa issuance through the Partner University according to the various different processes and requirements of the Colleges and their partner universities
  • As appropriate, engage with regulatory bodies
  • contribute to the creation and quality assurance of student records creation (data entry and comms) in Navigate and the University Record systems
  • proactively seek missing information if required
  • liaise with applicants and agents to collect the necessary documents to assist students in their visa application process
  • assess students financial situation, in line with UKVI requirements
  • Support the College teams in other student-related activities, such as enrolment and orientation activities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly reports on admissions issues and trends inclusive of recommendations
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding college information and student files
  • Carrying out other duties that may be reasonably required
  • Work with the Admissions Manager and colleagues in Colleges on process improvement tasks and projects as required.
Admissions Officer Requirements:
  • Tertiary Level education or possess related sector qualifications/training
  • Previous experience in an education/visa/immigration/ customer service focused environment
  • Good understanding of Higher Education admission processes
  • Administrative and compliance knowledge and experience related to Tier 4
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of front-line customer relationship management
  • Proven ability as a team player
  • Proven ability to organise own workload and to cope with a variety of task demands
  • Flexible attitude to work including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of student and administrative activities
  • Creative thinking processes
  • Commitment to self-improvement
  • Strong verbal and written English language communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills with a variety of cultural and ethnic stakeholder groups
  • Computer literacy skills inclusive of demonstrated competence with the Microsoft Office suite - PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Strong attention to detail - particularly with regards to understanding policy and procedure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly data filtering and pivot table functions
