Job Description

We are looking for kind and committed graduates in any subject who have a career goal that involves teaching young people with additional needs !GSL Education are working alongside an SEN School in Newcastle and are looking for recent graduates who intend to study PGCE qualifications in 2024 and would like to gain SEN school experience in the interim. This school caters for pupils with additional needsaround Mental Health , Anxiety and Behaviour.Working as part of a team of teaching assistants you will gain experience helping pupils both one to one and across larger class groups.The ideal candidate will work as part of a friendly and supportive team within the classroom helping boost academic outcomes and motivate students . You will work alongside the wider team , identifying areas where students need to improve and will then assistin delivering sessions. These sessions mayinvolveinput with lesson planning at a later date .The job requires commitment Monday – Friday and the working hours are 8:30am-3:30pm (TBC)This will be an immediate start and is Long term !The position is a really interesting and varied role and we are looking for people with patience, kindness,tenacityand the ability to build rapport and create positive relationships with often volatile and reluctant learners.If you intend to pursuea career in SEN Teaching this is an excellent opportunity to gain invaluableon the job experience !Requirements of the role - Graduate Teaching Assistant

Be able to work effectively alongside teachers providing support for students
Kindness , empathy and a desire to help young people, with additional needs, get the most out of the school day
Confident delivering small and effective sessions
A passion for assisting young people
Good level of Maths and English
EnhancedDBSon the update service or the willingness to complete an application
Kindness, enthusiasm andproactivitywith great organisational skills
Previous experience of working in schools/ or childcare settings is desirable but not essential
A degree or equivalent qualification
Confident ,friendlyand hardworking
