Job Description

About the Service / DepartmentHighbury Grove Recovery House (HGRH) is a non-clinical 12 bed recovery house for those in the Camden and Islington area who are experiencing a mental health crisis.The objective is to prevent admissions into acute inpatient services. Located in Highbury Grove, Islington, referrals are made via the home treatments teams into the recovery house and service users can stay up to a maximum of 14 days.The house is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with core support being provided by Recovery Workers between 8am – 10pm and Waking Night Recovery Workers available 10pm – 8am.About the role

  • To lead operational day to day delivery of the GCH under the direction of the Service Manager
  • With the Service Manager, to develop joint working and monitoring protocols with key stakeholders and partners for the GCH
  • To maintain partnerships with key stakeholders for the GCH
  • To manage day to day service performance related to the contract requirements including delivery against KPIs, outcomes and user experience measures
  • With the Service Manager to ensure timely and accurate submission of all internal and external reports detailing interim strategies to address any areas of underperformance in line with contract requirements
  • To work with the Service Manager to develop and implement the services annual Business Plans and Equality plans ensuring plans are aligned with the organisational strategic aims and the contractual requirements
  • Support the client facing staff (Recovery Workers and Waking Night Workers) to achieve the agreed standards of service delivery in line with clients needs and aspirations as well as compliance with relevant legislation, external governance, contract requirementsand Hestia policies andprocedures for the Crisis House Health & Safety & Building Management
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment for employees, members, customers, visiting professionals and other visitors by ensuring service delivery is in line with organisational procedures and H&S Legislation
  • Work with the Service Manager to liaise with senior staff at the landlord of the building regarding H & S responsibilities and reporting any deficits
  • Along with the Service Manager, to liaise with Hestias Health, Safety and Property Manager during service implementation, ensure all relevant legislative compliance regulations are adhered to and that the building meets essential safety criteria; feedingin operational knowledge to the buildingshealth and safety risk assessments and plans
  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership, management and support to the Recovery Workers and Waking Night Workers at the GCHAbout you
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting people with mental health and complex needs.
  • Experience and expertise to manage staff working with people who have complex issues and health problems and a strong understanding of Recovery.
  • approaches and co-production including. knowledge of issues affecting those individuals including paid Experts by Experience staff.
  • Experience in recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training.
  • Experience of performance monitoring and maintaining consistently high delivery standards and service user standards.
  • Ability to complete and record accurate financial transactions and knowledge of managing budgets.
  • Experience and familiarity with running services in an accommodation based setting, including repairs and maintenance and a basic understanding of building and physical health and safety.
  • Knowledge of Community Care, Mental health, Health and Safety and welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including out of hours during the evening, weekends/BHs.
