Job Description

Office based role set within an established service charge team. This interesting client side role is looking after the service charge accounting for a substantial portfolio of commercial properties.The portfolio is diverse and could include office blocks,shopping parks, mixed use schemes, retail and light industrial units. The successful Service Charge Accountant will have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, will have used a property related accounts system and enjoy a varied, busy and often deadlinefocussed role.A day in the life of a Service Charge Accountant...

  • Posting Receipts into client accounts
  • Posting Invoices onto client ledgers
  • Arrears Chasing
  • End of year Client Accounts preparation
  • Assisting in the reviewing of service charges and adjustments if needed
  • Processing adjustments and reconciling to the system
  • Providing service charge reports to property managers ahead of the budgets being prepared
  • Ensure all charges are applied correctly to the tenant account
  • Review and recommend any movements of expenditure between cost centers
  • Review and recommend any prepayments and accruals at the service charge year end
  • Clear down service charge VAT on a quarterly basis
  • Check invoice descriptions and make amendments where necessary to ensure correct billing
  • Daily use of Qube Horizon and MS Excel
