Senior IC Design EngineerAbout Quantum Motion Quantum Motion Technologies is a fast-growing quantum computing start-up based in London founded by academics from UCL and Oxford University. Our team has been able to demonstrate state of the art quantum capabilities using industrial-grade silicon chips, and we are focused on developing a fault-tolerant quantum processor, based on our patented designs, targeting solutions in fields such as chemistry, medicine and artificial intelligence. Our Team We recently earned the title of "Top 100 Startups worth watching in 2021" by EE Times and backed by reputable investors ranging from Oxford Sciences Innovations, INKEF Capital to Octopus Ventures in a successful £8m Series A funding round. The co-founderof Cadence and Synopsys, the two leading companies in the area of Electronic Design Automation, is also our chairman and an integral part of our team.We bring together the brightest quantum engineers, Integrated Circuit (IC) engineers and quantum computing theoreticians to create a unique, world-leading team, working together closely to maximise our combined expertise. Our collaborative and interdisciplinary culture is an ideal fit for anyone who thrives in a cutting-edge research and development environment focused on tackling big challenges and contributing to the development of scalable quantum computers based on silicontechnology. Our team of 20+ is based in Oxford and London: the majority of our experimental work is carried out in London and this is where we are expanding our operation, opening a new lab near Kings Cross this year. The Role & TeamThe IC Team is responsible for the design and test of the integrated circuits which operate at deep-cryogenic temperatures and interact with the qubits. This role is a unique chance to work at the bleeding edge of technology development, developing new innovativecircuits to tackle the engineering challenge of implementing a large scale quantum computer in silicon. You will be a key part of a multidisciplinary team, and will be involved in all the aspects of IC design cycle from initial concept to volume production. As a Senior IC Design Engineer, the position will suit someone with expert understanding in the CMOS process and with the flexibility to apply it to creating world first quantum computing devices in silicon. We are not looking for anyone with prior quantum experience, but curiosity and a strong desire to learn and input into a brand-new technology area are critical. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be an early employee at a start-up shaping the future of quantum computing. Being a small team and having a flat structure, this is a great opportunity to contribute to new developments within the field. There arevast opportunities for professional growth and to make an impact within the company.Role Function
