Job Description

Legal Compliance Manager, Islington, 3 days WFH/2 in office, £50-80k (DOE), + benefitsOur client is a progressive, very established law firm based in London, who are highly committed to exceeding their clients expectations - all the time! They are looking for someone to head up the existing compliance team, taking full responsibility andbeing accountable for compliance management, mitigating risk for the firm.The role:You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the firms adherence to quality, compliance, and regulatory standards. You will lead a team of 2 people, and manage various key responsibilities, including:

  • Internal Quality: Managing internal quality procedures to ensure full compliance with the requirements of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). Your expertise will be instrumental in keeping the firm aligned with industry standards.
  • Legal Issue Management: Dealing with legal issues such as Data Protection, Lender standards, and Anti-Money Laundering to maintain the unwavering commitment to the highest legal and ethical standards.
  • Quality Accreditations: Ensure strict adherence to Quality Accreditations issued by The Law Society, including Lexcel, Conveyancing Quality Standard, and Inheritance Quality Standards.
  • Complaints and Claims: Oversee the handling of client complaints and claims, demonstrating dedication to client satisfaction and resolution.
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance: Manage the renewal of Professional Indemnity Insurance to safeguard the interests of the firm and clients.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide valuable compliance advice to our lawyers on a day-to-day basis, ensuring they have the support needed to navigate and prevent compliance issues arising.

Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Compliance specialist or Manager in a role where you take full responsibility for this important function.
  • A deep understanding of SRA regulations and industry compliance standards.
  • Expertise in legal matters such as Data Protection, Lender standards, and Anti-Money Laundering.
  • Familiarity with Quality Accreditations issued by The Law Society.
  • A legal qualification or Solicitor is highly advantageous, however proven experience in a similar capacity at a medium-sized law firm are also desirable.
