Job Description

Have you got what it takes to support prisoners and their familiesPact is a highly respected independent charity, which together with its subsidiary, Pact Futures, works across England and Wales to develop and deliver a range of innovative services, providing practical and emotional support to prisoners’ children and families, to prisoners, and to ex-prisoners.Position: Family Engagement ManagerLocation: HMP PentonvilleHours: 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £24,500 Per AnnumClosing date for applications: 17th January 2021Interview date: W/C 27/01/2021About the Role:To lead and deliver the family services at HMP Pentonville in line with the establishment’s requirements, involving visit centre services; play provision; a social enterprise refreshment/catering service; complex family casework and support for family groupwork interventions.To develop and maintain positive relationships between prisoners and their loved ones, with the aim of reducing the likelihood of prisoners reoffending through supporting and maintaining family contact. The service will provide support to ensure that children, families and prisoners are treated with respect and dignity. The service will also help ensure families are able to gain greater access to support and early help within their local community and services and families work together to decrease the chance of intergenerational crime.About You:To be successful in this role you will ideally be knowledgeable of the criminal justice system and have an aware of the impact of custody on prisoners and on their children and families. You will lead and deliver a service that ensures prisoners, their children, carers and other relatives have access to appropriate advice, guidance, learning opportunities, care and support to better enable them to maintain or enhance positive relationshipsIn addition, you will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and work in a challenging environment whilst remaining calm. Furthermore, you will act as a role model for volunteers and an ambassador for Pact, conducting yourself professionally at all times, with high standards of personal integrity and accountability.Furthermore, you will have the skills to advocate for families dealing with imprisonment, promoting their human rights and ensuring their needs are considered, and views are heard at all levels.What Pact Offers:Pact offers a range of employee benefits including free confidential advice and counselling, generous holiday entitlement, cycle to work scheme, free eye care vouchers and pension.
