If you’re experienced Logistics / Traffic Operations Manager, who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment then read on, we may just have what you’re looking for!Traffic Operations Manager / Office Manager (Logistics)Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire£27,000 per annumFull Time - 45 hours (Working hours between 11:30 – 21:30) Our Client is expanding rapidly and have an exciting new opportunity for a Traffic Operations Manager to join their team in their Irthlingborough Depot.This is a family business and one of the leading privately owned palletised transport organisations in the UK. Established in 1979 they operate across 10 sites in England and Scotland with over 420 employees and 175 vehicles.They offer a wide range of delivery solutions to many satisfied customers while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professional conduct.About the Traffic Operations Manager role:This is a new role to support the Depot Operations Manager in their task of managing the daily collection, delivery and trunking requirements of the depot. Every effort will be made to help support, train and guide the Traffic Operations Manager in their role.Key areas of responsibility are collection and delivery vehicle utilisation, ensuring effective communication with customers, drivers and the warehouse function and the management of traffic office administration. Also to support the Depot Operations Manager in their objectives that the company achieves compliance under its requirements on the Goods Vehicle Operators Licence, Health & Safety at Work Acts, EC Drivers Hours & WTD rules and other general legal compliance.Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • To help to ensure that all necessary compliance is achieved within the Goods Vehicle Operators Licence requirements, adhering to company procedures in key areas such as; nil defect system, vehicle pre-inspection & load security.
  • To support the company’s Health & Safety policy within the depot, ensuring adherence to all guidelines and safe working practices.
  • Develop the roles of our traffic operators/planners and their understanding of our requirements.
  • Ensure that traffic administration procedures are completed and followed daily.
  • Review delivery, collection and trunk planning regularly throughout the day with relevant staff.
  • Supervise end of shift daily driver de-brief.
  • Assist with prompt daily KPI reporting.
  • Plan daily collection pattern from Resinex/Ultraploymers, Thrapston & Moulton Park.
  • To achieve a high level of customer service, liaising with Depot Operations Managers and Sales Manager when problems or issues occur and ensuring that the company’s escalation policy is adhered to.
