Do you know the difference If so, we need to talk to you.Whitworths currently has an opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join our Procurement team, supporting the sourcing strategy and management of the supplier base for packaging. Ideally you will have had some previous experience working with the different types of packaging (film and corrugate), even better if it has been in a purchasing role.You will be working closely with our Commodity Manager to build close relationships with our suppliers, whilst always being aware of the need to drive the commercial needs of the business, delivering positive price variance through risk management and sourcing strategies.We will provide training in this role; there is a lot to learn, not just about us and how we do business, but about our complex supply chain. For the right candidate, we would look to support further development through CIPS qualification.So, who is the right candidate Well, we expect that you would be numerate with an analytical mindset, good at using excel and other systems for data gathering; validation, forecasting and reporting.
