Job Description

Domus are proud to be working with a market leading provider in the charitable social care sector to recruit for a Day Centre Manager in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire.You will ensure that the needs of the adults with autism are assessed, identified and met through careful programme planning and behavioural support; manage an agreed budget to provide an efficient service; supervise and manage staff performance and coordinatepositive liaison with external agencies and the multi-disciplinary team.You will be resilient, supportive and sensitive towards the needs of autistic people and passionate about supporting them to live as independently as possible. Experience of managing a team is absolutely essential. You will have an excellent working knowledgeof care standards and related legislation as well as accurate and detailed report writing skills.Key Responsibilities of a Day Centre Manager:

  • Develop and maintain a responsive support service to people with autism.
  • Ensure that support is provided in an effective, efficient and sustainable way resulting in outcomes in line with individuals support plans
  • Play a leading role in the development and maintenance of excellent relationships relations with people we support and their relatives and advocates
  • To write, implement and monitor PBS Plans
  • Provide mentoring and assist with the development and management to the support teams
  • Assist with ensuring that staff have access to appropriate learning and development opportunities that ensure excellent support to individuals in line with support agreements and legal and regulatory compliance
Day Centre Manager Requirements:
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative framework/ regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of autistic spectrum disorders
  • An understanding of the principles of Health and Safety
  • An understanding of the rights of the people we support and the duties of staff within individuals homes Experience at Senior Support Worker level of working with people with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders
  • Previous experience of supervising / managing staff
  • Relevant Level 4 qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Driving license (desirable)
