Job Description

Supply Chain Manager – Spider is advertising on behalf of one of the leading business membership organisations in Suffolk, is looking for a talented and ambitious Supply Chain Manager for this newly created role, to help uncover contract opportunities and to provide targeted business advice to local and regional supply chain companies.Full time for a fixed term initially ending on the 31 December 2021, with opportunities for extension based on achieving key milestones.The Supply Chain Manager will provide a brokerage, contract-matching, and information dissemination service to local businesses that will match the Supply Chain organisations with industry buyers both nationally and regionally. Through a wide range of targeted engagement opportunities, you will raise awareness of the supply chain offer and develop business improvement plans to assist suppliers in maximising their chances to win contracts.You will be working alongside key stakeholders including EDF Energy, New Anglia LEP, and local authorities, and therefore you will play a pivotal role in building strategic relationships across Suffolk and beyond.Other key duties include:

  • Understanding the challenges and opportunities relating to supply chains and suppliers, along with the delivery of a high-value supply chain sourcing and enabling service
  • Understanding the key EDF Supply Chain documents and strategies, and support supply chain providers interpreting and applying them to win business
  • Experience in presenting to a range of businesses
  • Managing your own lead generation & conversions and providing creative & innovative ideas for engaging with local business
  • Experience with the market and customer-facing, you will be involved in extensive networking and attendance at a range of events, from business breakfasts and networking sessions to conferences, seminars, and exhibitions
  • The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
  • Demonstrable experience in supply chain/business development and engagement/advice to achieve business growth
  • Understanding of supply chain opportunities
  • Diagnostic skills to signpost and support businesses who aim to win supply chain contracts
  • Identifying and generating business leads and opportunities
  • Excellent networking and negotiating skills
  • Understanding of businesses, local authorities, and stakeholders regionally and nationally
  • Collaborative and proactive approach
  • The ability to ‘think on your feet’ and problem solve under pressure
  • Highly organised, self-motivated & punctual
  • Positive and flexible approach to working, including some out of hours work
  • A full driving licence and access to transport
  • This is a full-time role initially for a fixed term initially ending on the 31 December 2021, with opportunities for extension based on achieving key milestones. In return, the salary on offer is £30,000 - £35,000 per annum.
