Job Description

Financial AccountantReporting To: Head of FinanceDepartment: FinanceLocation: Hybrid Working (with occasional site visits)Direct Reports: 2Job Overview:Were seeking a Financial Accountant on behalf of our client, who will be tasked with delivering high-quality analysis and reporting to key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring alldeadlines are met and constantly looking for ways to improve processes.Responsibilities:

Oversee preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting on budget variances.
Take responsibility for month-end sales, stock, and margin reconciliation.
Own the balance sheet, ensuring all balances are reconciled and any issues flagged.
Oversee preparation of weekly sales reports and performance commentary.
Manage all company quarterly VAT returns and submission to HMRC.
Serve as the primary contact for year-end audit work.
Mentor and guide a team of 2 assistant accountants.
Represent finance in inter-departmental manager team meetings.
Assist with implementing new systems and projects, including training and process establishment.
Approve payments as needed and provide guidance for the department.
Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
3-5 years experience in a similar role managing large volumes of data and providing in-depth analysis.
Proficient in both management and financial accounting.
Experience managing a team is advantageous.
Industry experience in Retail/FMCG is beneficial.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Capable of working independently and problem-solving.
Excellent communicator across all levels of the business.
Efficient and detail-oriented worker.
Positive, flexible, and self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure.
