Job Description

GI Group are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter for one of our clients in Hyde. Job Details:Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:30pm Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm Pay: £15.85 The general purpose of the main role is:

Assemble fabricated conveyor sections in the assembly bay.
Fitting of components i.e. rollers, bearing, sprockets, gearboxes and motors.
Work on rental fleet conveyors (modifications, refurbishments or check over).
Work on existing customers conveyors (modifications, refurbishments or check over).

The general purpose of the secondary role is:

The Fabrication of component parts.
Fabrication of guards

Requirements:

Time served with engineering qualifications
To be able to assemble steel sections and fit components relevant to each model of conveyor.
At least four years experience performing similar work.
Ability to work with a range of hand tools (drills, grinders etc.).
Ability to work with a range of machine tools (guillotine, folder, drills, saws, lathes etc.).
Ability to work independently unsupervised or in a small team.
Ability to use lifting aids, training will be given; until training has been completed assistance would be given by someone who has completed the training.
The ability to measure and "mark out".
Ability to fit and track conveyor belts safely (training will be given).
