Job Description

My client based in Hyde is looking for a skilled Machinist to join the brilliant team. Youll have experience using lathes, drills and/or mills etc and be confident with engineering drawings. A superb starting salary of £25,000 - £27,000 DOE working 38 hoursper week.Role as a Machinist:

  • Turning majority of machining on manual centre lathe producing shafts, sleeves, spacers, etc.
  • Machining cast parts to drawing such as impellers, bearing housings, casings.
  • General milling including keyways and slots.
  • Vertical borer machining valve bodies, pump bowls, pump casings etc.
  • Carry out quality checks.
Skills and attributes of a Machinist:
  • Confident using measuring equipment and reading engineering drawing.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Relevant qualification to NVQ Level 3.
  • Service knowledge & understanding of rotating equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • People skillsTeamwork and collaboration.
