Job Description

IT HelpdeskHuthwaite - hybrid may be an option after probation£23,000 - £27,000 - depending on experienceAbout them:My client is a well-established, global trader operating from multi million pound premises in the Mansfield area of Nottingham. They are a family owned business with solid values and many of their workforce stay at the company for the whole of their career.Overview:The IT Helpdesk Assistant will provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems to internal employees and some external agents. The role involves answering queries on basic technical issues and offering advice to solve them.Duties:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided
  • Walk the employee through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Follow-up, update status and information
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by staff to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
Person Specification:
  • Keen to learn with strong interest in and aptitude for information technology
  • MS 365 experience desirable
  • Experience of addressing issues both face to face with users and remotely
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly effectively understanding the problem and explaining its solution
  • Customer-oriented, patient and able to explain things simply.

Other Information:
  • Monday to Friday. The start and finish times are flexible between 8am - 9am and 4.30pm - 5.30pm
