An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Design Engineer based in Cambridgeshire to join my client who is world leader in precision electronics.My client is easily commutable from Cambridge, Ely, Hitchin, Letchworth, Bedford, Royston, St Ives and Suffolk. Due to continued growth they are seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the development team with specific responsibility for mechanical systems design; from concept to final product design. The role covers the entire lifecycle of the product from initial concept through design to release into production and maintenance. The successful candidate will be undertaking detail design of components and assemblies of new product and existing products as well as undertaking analysis using Engineering theories and simulations to support design.Key skills/experience required for this Product Design Engineer job:-Experience designing and developing mechanical systems including basic hands-on experience. Understanding and experience in design for manufacturing - design for injection moulding, fabrication etc.-Experience and exposure to Mechanical design using CAD, (preferably Solidworks - But other CAD packages considered); also experience in using other Engineering tools and techniques such as FEA, DFMEA.-3D CAD modelling experience - Solidworks would be an advantage.-Degree qualified in a related disciplineThis is a great chance to join a growing company who can offer the opportunity for career progression and personal development.
