Job Description

Senior Buyer - Fashion industryLocation:Cambridgeshire- 2 days in the officeSalary:£45,000 - £60,000 perannumDo you have experience as a Buyer managing the critical path toachievedepartment targets within the fashion industryI am partnered with a leading Direct-to-Consumer apparel brand, renowned for its unique fabrics, patterns, silhouettes, and designs, they are looking for a Senior Buyer to join the business and lead the range selection process, utilising relevant trend andtrade elements, sourcing newsuppliersand developing relationships to drive business growth.Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Design and Merchandising team to build the range, analyse sales data, and make informed decisions.
  • Ensure each department has a shared vision by working alongside the merchandiser and marketing team.
  • Manage the critical path to achieve department targets and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Liaise with suppliers to progress production from initial quotation requests to sampling and production.
  • Negotiate cost prices to achieve the best prices and meet departmentBIM(Business Improvement Model).
  • Contribute to weekly trade meetings and react to department trading with suggestions for improvement.
  • Accountable for achieving cost price reductions of first-timerebuysand managing sample development.
  • Conduct monthly competitive shops and compile reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with the merchandiser to react to product returns and identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an established buyer, preferably in the fashion industry.
  • Experience managing a large supply chain base, including suppliers from outside the UK, such as the Far East.
  • Stronganalyticalskills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
