Network Engineer £40,000 - £45,000 Huntingdon / Remote / TravelThe CompanyOne of Europes leading research businesses with over 40+ years industry experience with a customer base worldwide.The company has seen rapid expansion over the last 24 months with progression opportunities across the business including infrastructure & network engineering and cloud-based support as a key part of their recruitment model for staff expansion in 2022.Company culture is very much hands on with a focus on working together with an international team, coupled with a passion for learning and driving network security to the highest level.OverviewYou will be a highly experienced network engineer working on-site at the Huntingdon office and across the wider business. There is some occasional travel required as part of the role, however, this is on a business need basis.You will be responsible for the implementation of new site networks and the maintenance of existing network systems including TCP-IP, VPNs and Firewall security. You will also be involved with the planning of future network builds.Due to the nature of the business and limited network issues, there is no formal on-call allowance, however, you will be paid at a higher rate for out of hours emergencies (or time of in lieu) covered by a weekly Rota between the networking team.Key responsibilities At least 5 years commercial experience in a similar Network Engineer position, ideally holding a Computer Technology / Science related degree or industry certification, with an ability to solve complex networking problems Solid background of industry standard systems security and threat protection tools Ability to develop, administer, monitor and maintain networks including TCP-IP, VPNs, iSCSI, Firewalls, WI-FIs Knowledge of AD Enterprise Admin of a multi-domain environment including CISCO ASA or Fortinet firewall configuration Ability to create and document solution designs and prepare support documentation whilst providing training to facilitate handover of solutions to the support team Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades to their corresponding infrastructure An understanding of SOX, GLP, GMP and other appropriate regulations.
