Job Description

We are the UK’s favourite bed specialist with over 50 years heritage, more than 150 stores nationwide and a dedicated UK factory in Huntingdon.Across our retail stores, manufacturing site and distribution centres, we employ over 1500 individuals who are all part of our vision to become a market leading beds retailer with a strong omnichannel presence.You too, could be part of our vision and a key player in moving our business forward with your natural ability to, engage, inspire and offer advice to our customers as well as motivate and inspire your team to ensure our customers choose the bed that suits them bestWe are currently recruiting full time permanentWarehouse Shift Managerwho will be responsible to ensure that all daily warehouse duties and targets are completed under the supervision of the Warehouse Operations Manager.Working hoursRotating shifts 05:00 – 14:30 or 13:30 – 22:00 – 40 hours / weekJob PurposeManages the warehouse team to ensure all inbound and outbound activities are completed to plan to deliver excellent service, whilst maintaining high standards of health and safety and cost control. Liaises with other departments to ensure all customer orders are completed on time and in full.Supports the Warehouse Operations Manager to run the department effectively to enable daily, weekly and monthly objectives to be met.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support the Warehouse Manager in the day to day running of the warehouse operation
  • Sets and communicates the daily warehouse plan in line with available resource
  • Monitors progress of the plan ensuring high standards of performance are achieved
  • Prepare the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to schedule work in the correct sequence to achieve best results, both inbound and outbound
  • Completes the warehouse checklist at the end of shift to measure all task have been completed on time and to a high standard
  • Feeds back performance to the team leaders and teams (OTIF, NPS, H&S) through regular briefings
  • Communicates effectively and liaises with other departments to achieve high standards of customer service are achieved
  • Follows all company procedures and processes relating to HR and Health and Safety legislation
  • Attends meeting where necessary to report on departmental performance (Daily Ops Call, Inbound Supply Call)
  • Develops the team, identifying training gaps and performance issues and instigating a plan to improve
  • To deputise for the Warehouse Manager in their absence
  • Maintains excellent housekeeping standards
  • To ensure that all new employees receive induction training according to Company Procedures and that it is properly signed off and recorded.
  • To participate as an effective and willing team member to achieve individual and team goals
  • To ensure the health and safety of Self, Customers and Colleagues is not at risk, by taking all reasonable steps to ensure safety in the workplace.
  • To adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • To undertake prescribed training and development.
  • To undertake any tasks as reasonably requested by management
