You will be responsible for a vital part of the supply chain process, managing people, processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched safely and efficiently, and that productivity targets are met.You will …

  • Manage all distribution centre warehouse activities and ensure customer deliveries are picked and loaded safely and efficiently, ready for onward distribution.
  • Manage the warehouse team to achieve a world class standard of service, whilst keeping a tight control of costs.
  • Drive operator performance to attain all key performance objectives for the warehouse.
  • Huncoat is a large Warehouse with over 200+ people, so we are looking for someone who is used to managing a large team of employees and managers.Key Responsibilities:
  • To manage all warehouse operations, inbound, outbound and reverse flow.
  • To manage warehouse Health and Safety compliance.
  • To manage warehouse Group Audit compliance.
  • To manage warehouse costs within budget and forecast levels.
  • To manage warehouse quicks and reports weekly, investigate reasons for variances andtoinstigate corrective action where necessary
  • To plan effectively for flexing of resources to account for fluctuations andseasonality
  • To assist in recruitment of temps, temporary to permanent and permanent employeesto meet budget and forecast requirements
  • To proactively manage all absence and retention of staff
  • To coaches and mentor staff, giving regular formal and informal feedback
  • To ensure a high level of compliance to WMS processes
  • To deal with all warehouse disciplinary issues in line with company policy
  • To liaise with other business functions and builds relationships with retailstores
  • To manage clearance tostores, auction and jobber
  • To communicate appropriately with the warehouse team to keep them up to date with business plans and performance
  • To lead continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse
  • Covers for other Regional Logistics Manager in their absence on other sites
  • What we are looking for in the Warehouse Operations Manager:
  • Experience of working in warehouse operations
  • Senior management experience
  • Previous experience of working in a retail business
  • Experience of 2-man home delivery
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good understanding of Warehouse processes and procedures
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Experience of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Passionate about delivering great customer service
  • Hard working and conscientious
  • Can lead a team and work within a team
