Job Description

Travel Requirements: 20 % 0 Domestic 0 % 0 InternationalJob Summary / Purpose of RoleIn this role you will work within the Service & Repair Department, to build and repair Industrial Gearboxes, both in house and on customers site.Job Responsibilities / Key Accountabilities

  • Building / Repairing Industrial gear reducers.
  • Liaise / Interact with customers when on site.
  • Rotating equipment experience essential - including Rolling Element and White Metal bearings
  • Gantry & Jib crane experience preferred
  • Lifting and slinging of loads up to 80t experience preferred
  • Stripping, cleaning, measuring and rebuilding old gearboxes.
  • Building new gearboxes - Prototypes/specials
  • Diagnosing faults - problem solving
  • Completing strip and inspection reports.
  • Completing site visit reports.
  • Testbed experience preferred but not essential
  • Familiar with measuring equipment- DTIs, Slip blocks, internal/external micrometres etc
  • Compiling build records on the quality of components in gearboxes such as, recording wheel and shaft sizes, bearing floats/clearances and backlash.
  • Maintaining a high quality of work within the department under pressure
  • Good housekeeping is essential - Clean as you go.
  • To work as part of a team, good communication skills- compile shift hand over notes.
  • Willingness to learn and gain new skills
  • A flexible attitude towards working hours needed when in-house or on-site.
  • Last minute/short notice service calls to customer site when breakdown occurs.
    • Job Requirements / Knowledge and Experience
  • Working to technical drawings
  • Heavy Industrial Gearbox experience essential
  • Flexibility to work off site for extended periods.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel Etc)
