Prosecution Team OfficerCriminal JusticeBradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and LeedsPermanent10 full time permanent postsWest Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint Prosecution Team Officers across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Leeds.The successful candidates will be responsible for the preparation of evidential files for Magistrate and Crown courts which comply with the National File Standard and Criminal Procedure Rules when necessary and within mandated timescales. You will be responsible for undertaking administrative tasks to assist the operational officers who are an integral part of the Prosecution Team. In cases where the Prosecution Team Officer is responsible for the preparation of the full file, you will be expected to resume the role of Disclosure Officer, in order to comply with CPIA, Common Law and other Authorised Professional Practice. When directed, you will be expected to obtain witnesses and complainants information to produce detailed and accurate written statements that comply with current legislation and procedure and can be given in evidence. Further to this you will provide support to Witnesses Care Officers when dealing with Victims and Witnesses, to obtain views on special measures, compiling Victim Personal Statements, managing expectations and where necessary ensuring they attend at court. Where required, you will attend court to give evidence in relation to case progression, disclosure and evidential matters in order to support the prosecution case.Ideal candidates will need to demonstrate excellent organisation, verbal and written communication skills to be able to work with the Operational officers, the Crown Prosecution Service, HMCTs and members of the public. Comfortable working both independently and alongside others in a demanding environment you must be able to manage the workload, whilst working with demanding and often competing timescales and must have a good knowledge of, and ability to use computer packages such as Microsoft Office.
