Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a global manufacturer to recruit a Special Processes Technologist to join their facility based near Nottingham.Our client is looking for someone who possesses technical and practical knowledge and has carried out research in special processes.Responsibilities of the Special Processes Technologist include:

  • Control and develop special processes required to support the manufacture of products
  • Ensure that engineering specifications are satisfied for new part introduction and ongoing manufacture
  • Provide technical support on all material and special processes and ensure the site is NADCAP compliant
  • Ensure process compliance to National and International Standards through both the generation of shop floor instructions and the participation in audit procedures
  • Approve process data cards/procedures, process or stage drawings and Methods of Manufacture both for domestically manufactured parts and for parts manufactured in the external supply network
  • Support the selection, justification, acquisition and commissioning of new processing equipment
We are keen to speak with Special Processes Technologists who possess the following:
  • Degree qualified
  • Qualified Metallurgist, Materials or Aerospace Engineer
  • Has in-depth knowledge of materials widely used in the aerospace industry
  • Possesses technical and practical knowledge of adhesive bonding and composite materials
  • Possesses a pragmatic decision making ability, with the drive to resolve issues which arise in a production environment
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Follows a data driven approach to problem solving
  • Has a good understanding of quality management systems and special processes controlling procedures and documentation
