Job Description

England’s first integrated Covid hub is launching in the north east.Newcastle Hospitals will manage the hub, working closely with Newcastle City Council together with colleagues from, Public Health England, local universities and industry.The hub will provide a ‘whole system’ approach and infrastructure for rapid and increased testing and tracing, alongside supporting the development of innovative Covid science and outbreak management.In addition to a new Lighthouse lab to process test results, the hub includes a new innovation lab which will be located in the heart of Newcastle, in the Helix Biosphere. The innovation lab will provide a national facility to assist in tackling the global pandemic and, ultimately, save lives. This element of the integrated Covid hub is unique to the north east.Reporting to the Director of Innovation, we are recruiting into the following positions:

  • Head of Innovation Laboratory
  • Principal Scientist
  • Commercial Business Manager
  • Senior Scientist
  • Healthcare Science Associate Practitioners
  • Phlebotomists
  • Research Associate
