This established post will provide an exciting opportunity for a Physician’s Associate to join our busy Hepatobiliary Service based at the Freeman Hospital.Working in the inpatient setting the post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team including , Surgeons, Radiologists, Endoscopy Team, Specialist Nurses and ward teams to provide clinical assessment, diagnosis management and treatment of emergency and elective inpatients referred to the service under the supervision of the surgical team.This is a very busy service caring for patients undergoing a range of procedures, interventions and surgery. The post holder will also contribute to the ongoing care and management of patients post operatively.Consultant level supervision and support will be available and the post holder will be encouraged to contribute to audit research and education in this dynamic and forward thinking service.There will be an expectation for career development within the department/directorate. This will include theatre exposure and training.The directorate has an expanding physician associate workforce and this will be an integral part of the directorate moving forward.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with clinical skills obtained through practice are essential requirements along with a post graduate qualification as a Physicians Associate, a valid certification of the Physicians Associate National exams and membership of the faculty of Physicians Associates. It is essential that you are able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate strong clinical leadership and responsibility for managing your own workload.
