Job Description

Head of UK Wholesale SalesCompany: ConfidentialAre you an experienced and dynamic sales leaderDo you have a proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that drive growth and profitabilityIf so, our client has an exciting opportunity for you to join their team as the Head of UK Wholesale Sales.The RoleThe Head of UK Wholesale Sales role will work closely with the Commercial Director and other members of the senior team to support and contribute positively to the long term success of the business.The key responsibilities are to:

  • Develop and implement brand and sales strategies that align with the company’s vision and objectives
  • Focus on business development with hands on approach across new and existing customers across all channels including expanding international markets in line with the strategic plan
  • Manage and oversee the sales team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation and management
  • Continue to develop the team, building the resources and capacity to meet business needs
  • Set and monitor sales targets and KPIs and prepare and present reports and forecasts
  • Analyse and anticipate market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities, and identify opportunities and challenges
  • Create and manage the sales budget and allocate resources accordingly
  • Establish and maintain long-term and profitable relationships with key customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Work closely with marketing to align with the sales strategy and targets
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure coordination of sales efforts
  • Stay updated on the latest industry developments, best practices, and innovations
  • Establish working practices, systems, and processes, and implement necessary changes
The PersonThey are looking for an experienced senior level sales professional who understands the wholesale market, with a clear and structured approach to the task at hand and strong people management skills. You must also be willing and able to take a hands-on proactiveapproach to all activities as required.Attributes:
  • Proven track record of selling consumer goods in the UK
  • Experience in dealing with all UK supermarkets and mass market general retailers
  • Experienced in restructuring sales teams and account handling
  • Can demonstrate examples of achieving sales growth
  • Provide examples of successful negotiation with senior personnel at UK retailers
  • Experience in integrating the sales account management and sales admin teams.
  • Provide analysis of UK the retail market in previous roles
  • Have extensive people skills with ability to influence and motivate at all levels
  • Will have excellent presentation skills with ability to handle and evaluate data
  • Experience in dealing with product development teams
  • Experience in dealing with marketing teams
  • Experience in dealing with supply chain
  • Full understanding of the underlying business cost structure and ability to build pricing models to achieve profit growth
  • Enjoy a hands on approach with product and customers.
