Job Title: Assistant Production ManagerLocation: Hertford, HertfordshireWorking Hours: 37 hours, 4.5 days per weekSalary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annumKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role with a well-rounded skillset.Previous experience working within an ISO quality system, such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485, is essential.Proficiency in working with power tools and assembly equipment.Experience within an SME (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise) business is preferred.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently without constant supervision.Exceptional attention to detail.Strong computer skills.Duties and Responsibilities:Effectively assist in managing the production department by supporting job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising results.Collaborate with the Production Manager to develop and execute production plans, including staff scheduling, progress monitoring, and problem resolution.Assist in planning output to cover assembly for customer orders, future orders, and build-to-stock items.Implement production line to zoned production cell transitions.Support in monitoring production output, establishing priorities, and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Collaborate with sales and purchasing teams to manage production scheduling.Assist in staff recruitment, selection, induction, and training, while fostering personal growth opportunities.Handle HR issues for direct reporting staff, including coaching, counselling, and disciplinary actions, as directed by the Production Manager.Assist in initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.Ensure all production processes are documented and up to date.Create, update, and maintain work instructions and labelling, as directed by the Production Manager.Support in documenting, investigating, and resolving nonconformity reports and customer complaints.Contribute to internal bench testing and calibration.Assist in ensuring all equipment is regularly maintained and calibrated as required.Evaluate new equipment and techniques for production improvement, as directed by the Production Manager.Support in acting as a deputy for the Quality Manager on regulatory issues.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by educating and directing staff on equipment use, resources, and compliance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the Production Manager.Perform other general production duties as required, as directed by the Production Manager.If you are an experienced and motivated individual looking to contribute to the growth and success of our dynamic manufacturing business in the role of Assistant Production Manager, we encourage you to apply.
