Job Description

On behalf of our client we are recruiting for permanent job opening for a Mechanical Technician at our clients site, UKs largest designer and in-house manufacturer of wide range of products such as Stationery, Creative Play, Gifting and products for lifes important occasions.Contract: PermanentSalary: £34,211 per annumShifts: 12hour shift, rotation of Day and Night, including every other weekend workWe are looking for a Mechanical Technician with primary responsibility for maintenance and repair of all plant, machinery and equipment within the Manufacturing sections.Key responsibilities

  • Analysis and repairs to machinery, both mechanical and electrical, to ensure minimum loss regarding production output.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical machine maintenance at appropriate times.
  • Repairs to machine parts as necessary.
  • Assist with setting duties in the Conversion Area when this is deemed necessary.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to an acceptable standard before being handed back to production.
  • Offer support to Shift Technical Operators.
Experience in the following disciplines
  • Mechanical fault analysis and repair
  • Electrical fault analysis and repair
  • Setting of Conversion machines
Essential Criteria
  • Mechanical bias
  • Positive attitude and be self-motivated
  • Ability to work on their own initiative
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Ability to offer positive feedback to overcome current issues, for continuous improvement within Manufacturing
  • Flexibility regarding holiday cover, seasonal working, overtime and unforeseen absence as required
