Job Description

Amour Recruitment are delighted to be working with a logistics group who are renowned as being a high-quality provider of transport solutions in the South Wales, Hampshire and North London areas. They have recently become part of a larger group and are theprincipal business within the Service and Logistics Division. Their philosophy is to work closely with customers to develop an extensive understanding of their unique business needs. This enables them to deliver bespoke logistics solutions, which provide distinctvalue with measurable results.We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller to join this company at an exciting transformation phase and to work to drive modernisation and efficiency across the group.Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation of individual subsidiaries monthly management accounts in accordance with group deadlines
  • Processing of monthly journals for all group companies
  • Collation of accounting information into daily/weekly and monthly group reporting packs
  • Management & development of the finance team - currently 8 direct reports
  • Maintaining invoice discounting facilities for each subsidiary
  • Reconciliation of invoice discounting facilities
  • Managing payroll function for all group companies
  • VAT compliance for all group companies
  • Year-end processing in compliance with IFRS and preparation of audit schedules
  • Workshop stock monitoring
  • Fuel stock monitoring and purchasing
  • Management and review of overhead expenses
  • Automation of manual processes where possible
In order to be successful within this role you should have:
  • Senior level accounting experience
  • Drive for Achievement
  • Strong Verbal and Written communication skills
  • Ambition to improve and drive forward own personal development
  • An infectious Can do attitude
  • A willingness to travel to other UK sites within the group
Desirable:
  • Accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA
  • A recognised degree
  • Industry sector experience
