Job Description

Financial ControllerLocation: Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly, Glamorgan, CF82 7RJSalary: CompetitiveContract: Full time, PermanentTWT Logistics Group is a high-quality provider of transport solutions in the South Wales, Hampshire and North London areas. We have recently become part of a larger group and are the principal business within the Service and Logistics Division of AquilaFood Group.Together with our reputation for providing exceptional bulk delivery services, we are members of 3 pallet networks and also provide storage and warehouse services including unloading of shipping containers and repackaging for onward delivery.Our philosophy is to work closely with our customers to develop an extensive understanding of their unique business needs. This enables us to deliver bespoke logistics solutions, which provide distinct value with measurable results.We have an excellent opportunity for a Financial Controller to ensure that effective controls and procedures are in place across the whole business.As our Financial Controller you will report to the Divisional Finance Director and be responsible for:

  • Preparation of individual subsidiaries monthly management accounts in accordance with group deadlines
  • Processing of monthly journals for all group companies
  • Collation of accounting information into daily/weekly and monthly group reporting packs
  • Management of the finance team
  • Maintaining invoice discounting facilities for each subsidiary
  • Reconciliation of invoice discounting facilities
  • Managing payroll function for all group companies
  • VAT compliance for all group companies
  • Year-end processing in compliance with IFRS and preparation of audit schedules
  • Workshop stock monitoring
  • Fuel stock monitoring and purchasing
  • Management and review of overhead expenses
  • Automation of manual processes where possible
In order to be successful within this role you should have:
  • Senior level accounting experience
  • Drive for Achievement
  • Strong Verbal and Written communication skills
  • Ambition to improve and drive forward own personal development
  • Can do attitude
  • A willingness to travel to other UK sites within the group
It would be great if you have:
  • Accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA
  • A recognised degree
  • Industry sector experience
