Job Description

We offer an extensive array of award-winning products across the world ranging from printers and 3LCD projectors for business, education, live events and the home, to electronic and crystal devices.The Product Manager owns the product planning stage of the product life-cycle working closely with Epsons head office in Japan, whilst reporting into the Head of Product Marketing. With a segmented approach the Product Manager builds a comprehensive knowledge of the market place and customer values for both existing and new product segments in order to drive future product planning to grow the business.This person will be an experienced engaging professional with a good mix of technical and marketing knowledge; additionally, they will work well and closely with our sales, pre-sales, in country Business Managers, marketing communications, product planning group and service teams. They will confidently and demonstrably be able to contribute to growth plans whilst keeping track of industry trends to grow the business. This role is based from our Sales and Marketing Offices based in Hemel Hempstead, UK.Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the Product Champion, evangelist and go-to person for sales teams, local product management and marketing teams on all things product; associated programs, markets and technologies
  • Support sales and marketing colleagues at customer events, Journalist presentations, and exhibitions; ensuring that products are presented / demonstrated at their best
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the key competitors, complementary vendors, end users and channel partners who influence the market
  • Gather information from sales teams and directly from customers and the channel on market trends and competitor information (i.e. new products / price positioning / promotional offers etc.)
  • Provide feedback to the head office in Japan to ensure that local market situation is fully understood
  • Develop training materials for local purposes, and present these to local Epson sales staff. Help and support the sales effort by overseeing the key demonstration resource - the product demonstration pool. Ensure that products in the pool are being properly maintained and are received by the channel / customer in a suitable manner
  • Support and engage key alliance partners to enhance these vital business relationships
    • Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Product management background within AV industry
  • Enthusiasm for technology, and an inquisitive mind
  • Good communication and presentation skills and the ability to network
  • Understanding of the market sector, and appreciation of major channel influencers and end users
  • Analytical, with the ability to assess and assimilate multiple information sources
  • Good attention to detail
  • Experience operating in a matrix organisation with central functions
