Job Description

A well-established Multi-National Global Logistics Provider offering import and export logistics solutions via air, sea and road as well as offering Customs and Warehouse & Fulfillmet services, is recruiting for an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator to join its busy Perishables department in the Heathrow area. The hiring company has more than 40 years of experience with offices in 12 markets across the globe.Experience with perishables is a must to be considered.Purpose/Objectives of the Role: To handle the day to day operational duties and customer service within the Sea Import Perishable Department, and to provide efficient and high quality service to the customers. Also, handling quotes and queries of the department.Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Handle sea freight import operations of perishable goods, from start to finish
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service
  • Ensure that you are working in accordance with the Companies Credit Policy at all times
  • To have an active role in resolving customer queries
  • Knowledge of customs clearance procedures of perishable products
  • Responsible for preparing and update quotes to customers, and ensure quotes are saved correctly on to the system
  • Responding to billing queries (both an AP/AR side)
  • Monitoring shipping line tariff, and updating them on the system
  • Updating Haulage Tariff

  • Proven experience in handling perishable sea freight import operations
  • Ability to demonstrate a flexible, hands on approach
  • Effective communicator with colleagues, clients and suppliers
  • I.T conversant in basic applications & customs procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure, and ability to multi-task
