Job Description

Freightserve recruitment are looking for an experienced Freight Operations Manager for a well-established niche sector Freight Forwarder. The company is based in Heathrow area.Main Purpose:To manage the day to day operations - Import, Exports and Transport. The aim of this position is to ensure all shipments are efficiently processed, recovered and dispatched in time to meet schedules required by the customer. The position includes managingpersonnel on a hands-on and HR level keeping records up to date. The position extends to creating workable formal relationships with sub contractors, handling facilities and overseas offices maintaining a clear communication line with other departments withinthe Heathrow branch.Main Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, this person will be responsible for successfully managing the Heathrow Operations function.
Overseeing up to 25 staff members, who cover various shifts
Dealing with all Air Imports, Exports and Brokerage.
Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission specifically, support management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all Services
Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
Oversee overall operational management, planning, systems and controls.
Management of operational budget in coordination with the UK General Manager.
Management of external agencies relevant to operations.
Lead, develop and coach staff to their full potential.
