Job Description

Freightserve are looking to recruit a Distribution Clerk . The company are a well established niche sector Freight Forwarder based in the Feltham, Middlesex area.POSITION SUMMARRYFacilitate the movement of freight from arrival on site to customer delivery in accordance with organizational policy and procedureManage the necessary documentation relating to product distribution. Ensure systems are maintained and information is stored correctlyCommunicate with customers and suppliers, as necessary to ensure an efficient distribution and storage process is maintainedLiaise with the warehouse team to ensure the swift movement of freight through our facility.RESPONSIBILITIESDocumentation and Records: Prepare collection and delivery notes in accordance with daily arrivals and distribution lists.Communication: Liaise with customers regarding product arrival and inspections. Provide customerCargo Tracking: Monitor and track shipments throughout the transportation process, providing real-time updates to clients and internal teams.Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve any shipment-related issues, such as delays, damages, or customs clearance/ DEFRA challenges.Customer Service: Answer telephone calls, resolve customer queries , serve collecting drivers with tickets upon arrivalEXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience in warehousing/logisticsStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.Proficiency in relevant computer software and applications.Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.CHARACTERISTICSOrganizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple job sheets, documents, and tasks simultaneously is crucial. Effective organization ensures that shipments are processed smoothly and on time.Problem-Solving Abilities: Distribution Clerks often encounter challenges such as quality issues, transportation delays, or documentation discrepancies.
