Job Description

Cignpost Diagnostics Ltd. offers mobile and fixed laboratory molecular diagnosis of COVID-19 through real-time RT-PCR assays based on oral and nasal swab samples. As part of this service Cignpost Diagnostics Ltd. provides trained individuals to undertakethe collection of test swabs to a variety of organisations and individuals at testing locations throughout the UK.Role Overview This is a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the laboratory. This job will require attention to detail and an ability to follow procedures accurately. The ideal applicant will have strong communication and IT skills. This role will ensure thescientific team are not distracted and diverted from their work by non-scientific matters.Responsibilities To deliver the following under the leadership of the Operations Manager:

  • Receiving test samples on behalf of the lab from couriers and site managers, and processing via electronic system, monitoring and recording each stage of the process.
  • Providing administrative support including printing and filing reports, and data entry.
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries as required.
  • Managing logistics and target perception.
  • Adhering to SLAs and reporting targets.
  • Adhering to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines.
  • Liaising with laboratory team, swab site teams and couriers.
  • Meeting KPIs agreed with Operations Manager.
  • Communicating data statistics to the Data Team.
  • Handling and disposal of outbound waste.
  • Carrying out daily equipment checks and facility reporting to set KPIs.
  • Checking equipment and stock levels and ordering supplies as required
Requirements
  • Good general education up to GCSE including Maths, English and Science (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
  • Good IT skills and able to pick up bespoke systems quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to exercise initiative.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with indirect supervision.
  • Ability to prioritise work.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Previous experience in production / process engineering would be beneficial.
This is a field based role between Surrey and Heathrow, with some trave to mobile testing sites.Full training and PPE will be provided in advance. All employees must be prepared to undertake regular Covid testing.Applicants must not be classified, or live with anyone classified, as belonging to any of the COVID-19 high risk groups.
