This progressive freight forwarder requires an experienced export seafreight clerk for their busy Ocean team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The position would be a complete start to finish role, to include but not limited to:·Arranging LCL and FCL export shipments to worldwide destinations.·Arranging collections with our selected Transport Companies.·Handling order traces, issuing Bills of Lading, invoices, sending pre-alerts to overseas offices.·Knowledge of physical loading of containers would be beneficial.·Good negotiating skills.·An in-depth customs knowledge and the ability to complete export Customs entries via Sequoia.·Basic understanding of Ocean Imports would be an advantage.·Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.·Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:·Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.·Experience at communicating with Shipping Lines, Co-Loaders and Transport Companies.·Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)·Good understanding of CNS, FCP & Sequoia operating systems would be required.·Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.·Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.Physical Requirements:·Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.·Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.·Willingness to work occasional overtime as and when required.·Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
