Job Description

Our client, a global leader within its field, is recruiting for a European Logistics Network Manager for its internal logistics division based near London Heathrow. The logistics division offers import and export logistics / freight forwarding solutions via air, sea and road.On Offer;

    • Main Purpose of the RoleReporting to the European Regional Operations Manager, lead the Logistics / Freight Services European Operations team to deliver excellent customer service, effective transport solutions and cost efficiencies through the active management of the business transport network.The position will take full control of all the operation across Road, Sea and Air departments, and the 32 members of the team. The ideal candidate will be experienced, preferably across all modes, in team management/ leadership and someone that can bring ideas and change to improve the current set up and operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Operational responsibility of Multi customer CT Road, Air & Ocean team
  • Deliver clear operational direction, leadership and development to the European operations team
  • Ensure all business is conducted in accordance with the company’s operational and safety procedures, as per the company Control Manual and Delegation of Authority.
  • Review and improve current policies and procedures in line with the business strategy.
  • Initiate and support continuous improvement activities with all the company entities to meet optimisation targets.
  • In accordance with the quality system, direct investigations to address service concerns.
  • Provide accurate and timely business updates and KPIs to the Regional Operations manager.
  • Ensure effective communication throughout the operational leadership team, communicating planned requirements and providing information on performance.
  • Build and implement an effective employee engagement strategy, resulting in a highly engaged and motivated workforce
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders within the supply chain.
  • Management of operational margins
  • Support Regional Operations Manager as and when requested.
    • To Be Considered;Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong international Road, Air & Ocean background across key markets within leading Freight Forwarder / Shipping line or 3PL.
  • Qualification in Freight Management, Logistics Supply Chain
  • Proven experience within a similar position
  • Customs knowledge
  • Previous team & people management experience
  • Basic knowledge of transport regulations such as CMR, IMO, IATA, ADR, IMDG
  • Team training, development & recruitment
  • Analytical skills - data analysis and reporting
  • Good communication skills - both written and verbal.
    • Desirable Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of network transport ideally within a control tower environment
    • Essential Competencies
  • Able to pro-actively identify opportunities for improvement and areas of concern, then make recommendations and implement solutions
