Job Description

Senior Buyer – Heanor / Hybrid – Competitive Salary + £5k Car AllowanceChase & Holland are proud to be working exclusively with an established and innovative business who are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join their team.This newly created role will see you take lead on specific procurement projects for the business and you will also provide support to the Buyers within the team. The business is currently working on some really exciting projects with some big clients and as they continue to grow there is scope for this role to develop into a more senior position.In Return You’ll Receive:

Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead on specific projects to ensure all procurement requisites are satisfied
  • Source key manufactured products or services and develop strategic supplier relationships
  • Work closely with sales, design and projects to ensure timely procurement of key products and services
  • To negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality driving maximum benefit to the business
  • Driving various ‘cost down’ initiatives and the simplification of processes
  • Working with key suppliers to drive down lead times and improve quality
  • Review Engineering design drawings for clarification or correction
  • Review and approve invoices and contractor requisitions
  • Assist with the control, processing and distribution of all Project documentation
  • Provide technical/commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge
  • Managing overseas freight queries and logistics to ensure Projects are delivered on time
  • Provide ongoing support to the Buyers within the team
Hours: Monday to Friday. 8:30am – 5pm flex (1 hour lunch)Required Skills & Experience:
  • Experience of working in a Purchasing & Supply Chain environment within an engineering/manufacturing environment (essential)
  • Have basic understanding of engineers drawings (essential)
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills (essential)
  • Experience of leading/supervising junior team members (essential)
  • CIPS Qualified / HNC Level Engineering Qualification (highly desirable)
