R. Plevin & Sons Ltd have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning Controller to join our busy team based at our site at Hazlehead. Working on a full time, permanent basis you will also receive a competitive salary.Plevin & Sons is a UK market leader in wood recycling and the manufacture of animal bedding and run its own modern fleet of vehicles.The role:The main responsibilities of the role are to plan and coordinate skip and artic vehicles and provide operational support to a busy transport department, to provide an efficient service for our customers.There are other transport related duties included in this busy role.As our Transport Planning Controller your duties will include:- Planning workloads, allocating vehicles/equipment and routing drivers to maximum efficiency.- Controlling a fleet of articulated and skip vehicles.- Notifying drivers of their workloads, including destinations and job details.- Dealing with driver queries.- Liaising with customers.- Ensuring the company complies with legislative requirements.- Monitoring driver performance and communicating to drivers what actions are required to improve performance.- Ensuring paperwork is completed correctly and returned within timescales.Key skills and experience needed to become our Transport Planning Controller:- Good open communication skills.- Good geographical knowledge.- Excellent team working skills.- Ideally candidates will be able to adapt to continuous change.- Good at making decisions to tight timescales.- A solid understanding of transport legislation.- Some experience of working within a transport environment.- Computer literate along with having good administration skills.- Experience of operating vehicle tracking systems with the ability to interpret data is also essential for this role.Hours of Work:Monday – Friday 08:30 -17:30 hoursThe benefits:- A competitive salary will be offered- Company Pension Scheme- 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)- Working for a progressive company that is keen to develop people.Plevin are committed to equal opportunities and aims to be an equal opportunity employer.If you feel you have the skills and experience to become our Transport Planning Controller, please click ‘Apply’ now!
