Job Description

Senior Pricing AnalystWe are currently partnering one of the UKs largest MGAs and assisting in their recruitment for a Senior Pricing Analyst to join and help develop their existing technical pricing structure across a range of insurance lines including Motor (PL and CV), Home, Commercial Lines, Pet and Travel.We require at least 2-3 years experience in General Insurance Pricing, including strong price and risk modelling skills. This is a period of exciting transformation across the department with exploration and deployment of new methods and techniques, including Machine Learning models. Some experience with these would be great, but we can also consider strong price modelling skills and a desire to learn contemporary techniques.As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will use your advanced analytical skills to:

  • Create innovative data solutions
  • Build and maintain sophisticated models using a range of data science techniques
  • Develop reporting structures to monitor pricing performance
  • Working closely with pricing and underwriting teams, your insight and recommendations will enable improvements to products and prices giving critical advantage in the increasingly competitive insurance market.
    • Job Purpose: Provision of pricing analysis, modelling results and reporting to internal and external customers. This will be across Motor, Home and Commercial Lines business.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop advanced pricing models to meet business requirements
  • Research and leverage new and existing data sources; creating innovative data features
  • Implement a wide range of data science and statistical techniques, including Machine Learning
  • Collaborate with peers in pricing and underwriting
  • Communicate results to key decision makers across the business for action based on the results of pricing analysis
  • Using specialist software to monitor trends and review impact of pricing proposals
  • Assist the maintenance and monitoring of pricing performance
  • Conduct analysis across a range of markets, including; Private Motor, Commercial Vehicle, Bike, Taxi, and Home
  • Compare prices, products and conditions with the market
  • Coaching and mentoring team members
    • Key Skills and Experience:
  • 2-4 years experience within any general insurance pricing
  • Experience with some of the following predictive modelling techniques; Logistic Regression, GBMs, Elastic Net GLMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Nets and Clustering
  • Experience in programming languages (e.g. R, Python, PySpark, SAS, SQL)
  • A good quantitative degree in, but not limited to: Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science or Psychology
  • Experience of WTWs Radar software is preferred
  • Proficient at communicating results in a concise manner both verbally and written
