As our Marketing & Communications Officer,you will be responsible for marketing these special places imaginatively and effectively. James and Margaret Beale chose an idyllic location with views across the Sussex countryside for their rural retreat. Designed by Philip Webb, the houseis one of the finest examples of Arts and Crafts workmanship, with Morris & Co. interiors creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The house is dressed for a weekend stay in 1925, so you can imagine you are a guest of the family.A major restoration of the 5-hectare (12-acre) hillside garden showcases year-round seasonal highlights and an award-winning plant collection. On the wider estate, footpaths lead out into the woodlands, Ashdown Forest and wider High Weald Area of OutstandingNatural Beauty. Standen also has a newly set up second hand bookshop, shop and Barn Cafe.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Day to day, youll be responsible for creating content on our social media channels, working with property teams across the portfolio to engage our supporters with the work of the National Trust. Were particularly keen to hear from people with video experience,as wed like to develop this aspect of our digital channels. Youll also assist in the implementation of our annual marketing plan to help achieve our ambitious targets, and enabling us to reach out to new audiences. This will include defining advertisingactivities and creating promotional materials and updates (across all media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and representing us on location filming and broadcast media when you need to.Were looking for someone who can help us reach larger and more diverse audiences for our places and our digital content. Youll work as part of a team to make sure that were sharing the best stories we can. Spreading the word about places to visit in thegreat outdoors, and raising awareness of our conservation work is key to what were about.Youll be based at Nymans, Standen or at home, working flexibly across the portfolio to gather the content you need.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert. Who were looking for To deliver this role successfully, you will need to have;

• A good understanding of marketing techniques, including websites as well as digital and social media

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent digital and social media skills

• Strong customer service skills

• Advanced IT Skills (including Microsoft Office)

• Problem solving skills, and ability to work on own initiative
