Job Advert: Learning Support AssistantLocation: Haywards Heath Position: Learning Support AssistantRole Overview for Learning Support Assistant: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive the assistance and guidance they require. You will work closely with teachers, students,and parents to create an inclusive classroom experience and promote an environment where every student can thrive academically and personally.Key Responsibilities of a learning Support Assistant:* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with various learning needs, adapting teaching methods as required.* Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special requirements.* Collaborate with classroom teachers to create and modify lesson plans, materials, and assessments to accommodate different learning styles.* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.* Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents about student achievements and challenges.* Implement behavioral strategies and interventions to support students in maintaining appropriate behavior and engagement in the learning process.Desirable Qualifications for Learning Support Assistant:* Certification in special education, teaching assistance, child development, or a related field.* Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, such as learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, or emotional/behavioral challenges.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other staff members.* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for helping students overcome obstacles and reach their potential.* Organizational skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a dynamic educational environment.* Knowledge of assistive technologies and teaching aids that support different learning styles.Benefits of working as a Learning Support Assistant:* Excellent working hours 08:30 - 15:30* Term-time only* Ongoing career support from your dedicated consultant* You will gain experience working hands on in a classroomHow to Apply for the Learning Support Assistant role:This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the education and growth of young minds.
