Job Description

Gardener/Maintenance Officer - Haywards Heath, RH1637.5 hours per week - £8.72 per hourCaring Homes is delighted to announce our care home Walstead Place located in Haywards Heath, is recruiting for a Gardener/Maintence officer. The home is designed around the needs of its residents and will provide the highest level of residential, nursing and dementia care.As a Gardener you will be responsible for all general maintenance and upkeep duties within the grounds of the home and you will also be requirted to help maintenence within the home itself with minimal disruption to the home.Responsibilities:You will be carrying out various gardening duties as well as odd jobs such as performing repairs, maintaining property, performing renovations as and when required. This may include but not be limited to;

  • Maintaining the grounds around the home
  • Minor repairs to furniture and doors
  • Assist with home closures and openings, moving furniture, transporting equipment as required
  • Undertake minor electrical/plumbing repairs
  • Maintain dustbin areas and fencing around the property
  • To be successful in this role you will need:
  • To have previous, relevant experience
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations
  • Knowledge of Management of Health and Safety at Work regulation 1992
  • Understanding the terms ‘Hazard’ and ‘Risk’
  • Hold a valid UK Driving Licence
  • To be willing to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the service
